Background:
Connect Nakusp is a friendly name for a comprehensive and accessible trail network plan that will connect destinations in Nakusp and area. The plan will pull together previous planning projects and public feedback efforts to create shovel ready project segments, in preparation for implementation funding.
This plan is funded by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure AT Network Planning grant, Nakusp and Area Community Forest (NACFOR) legacy fund, Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK) Area K funding, and in-kind efforts of suppliers, contractors and volunteers.
The Village of Nakusp is administering this process. True North Forestry Consulting Ltd. is undertaking the work to complete the plan.
The end point of the project is to create an overall network plan, made up of logical interconnecting routes which link destinations in and around the Village. The accompanying drawings will be used for implementation grant funding applications and to guide construction.
